TeenBoysLove is a new site that went right to the top of list in many topsites and listings as soon as it was released in August 2006. Is it marketing or is it worth it? There is no question that the marketing is superb - the site banners are everywhere and the site itself is very alluring - it does make you want to join!

Once inside, the content is a bit thin, but we must remember that is has been running for 6 weeks or so - not very much time to build up a lot of content. The current material is dated from the end of July with the most recent video being added in early September. I will keep an eye on things and report on how the updating goes. This is frequently the weak spot - maintaining consistent and interesting content over time.

There are currently 9 DVD quality (720x576) videos in the site - you do have the choice to download them to your machine in either this high quality DVD format or a lower quality 320x240 Windows media format for those with dial-up connections. The quality is very good and the videography is better than basic, but this is not Spielberg stuff. File sizes on the high quality videos run around 150mb so be prepared with plenty of space.

The galleries in the site are basic - no fancy linking systems - each photo opens in its own window which can be a bit annoying. I would like to see zip downloads as well. It does make life so much more convenient... The photography is, like the video, not super fancy, but then every site is not a GayTeenStudio.

Is it worth it? Yes, for one simple reason - the price is right. Normally I do not like 3 day previews, but in a new site it makes sense. There is not that much content so it will take a relatively short time to go through it all - to see what is there. Even if you take the regular membership it still works as there is enough material to justify joining. Whether or not you let the membership recur is your choice, but some sites are best joined and then re-joined after several months, while some are worth staying with month after month. TBL is a bit more of the former for me.
